Chair

Patricia is a survivor of domestic violence who began her fight against the systems that re-victimize women and their children as a solo advocate. In 2004, she joined VOW as a member of the Housing Justice Campaign to ensure that no other woman would have to endure what she experienced while leaving her abuser.

As the Chair of the EAU Committee at VOW, she and her committee members participated in numerous meetings with NYCHA personnel to address the challenges survivors face when meeting NYCHA's documentation requirements. Additionally, she collaborated with members of VOW’s Housing Committee to conceive, develop, and launch a housing action. During housing hearings, she and her committee members provided testimonies, ensuring their voices were heard.

Patricia was also a member of the Justice Reform Committee. In this role, she and other committee members met with lawyers and justices to share their experiences with the court system. Their testimonies offered valuable insights into how judicial decisions impact survivors. Once again, the voices of VOW members were heard.
