About Our Organization

The Voices of Women is a survivor-centered organization grounded in community organizing, leadership development, and systems change. We work to organize, train, and support survivors in advocating for policies and practices that improve the systems survivors turn to for safety, justice, and assistance.

Our work is rooted in the belief that survivors are not passive recipients of services, but leaders, experts, and changemakers whose lived experiences must shape public policy and community responses.

Our Mission Statement

To organize and train survivors to reform domestic violence policy, its implementation, and the services survivors turn to for safety, justice, and assistance.

Vision Statement

We envision communities where survivors are safe, supported, heard, and empowered to lead transformative change within public systems and society.

Core Areas of Work

  • Survivor Leadership Development
We provide leadership development opportunities that equip survivors with the skills, confidence, and support needed to advocate for systemic change

  • Community Organizing
We organize survivors and community members to address systemic inequities impacting survivors and families.

  • Policy Reform
We work alongside survivors to identify policy gaps, educate decision-makers, and advocate for survivor-informed policy solutions.

  • Education & Awareness
We provide trainings, presentations, outreach, and public education on domestic violence, survivorship, systems navigation, and social justice.

  • Systems Accountability
We advocate for systems that respond to survivors with dignity, safety, fairness, and support rather than punishment or surveillance.
