When Survivors Organize, Systems Change

We are a survivor-led movement fighting for safety, dignity, and real accountability. We work to dismantle systemic barriers, transform the policies and services survivors rely on, and build pathways to healing rooted in care, equity, and justice.

Voices of Women Organizing Project (VOW) brings together survivors of domestic violence to organize and transform the systems meant to provide safety, accountability, and justice for abused women and their children.

Through organizing training, leadership development, and technical assistance, VOW supports survivors in reclaiming their power, identifying their needs, and collectively shaping solutions. Survivors lead efforts to drive long-term systemic change by documenting institutional failures, sharing testimony, developing policy recommendations, and engaging directly with local and state decision-makers.

VOW is committed to ensuring that survivor voices are not only heard—but recognized as experts and included at every level of decision-making.

Black quotation marks on dark background

MI am so proud to be part of an organization that represents the diversity of NYC women, including African American, Latina, white, Asian, immigrant, lesbian, and disabled women. As a result of my membership in VOW, I have evolved from a survivor of domestic violence into an activist.
